An Introduction: Featherstone's Winter Salad Kit Subscription

I think it’s safe to say this year has looked much different than any of us could have expected. Here at Featherstone Garden, our primary clients were local Detroit-area restaurant chefs, but with restaurants offering very limited menus, cutting costs, and a handful of unfortunate closures, our farm needed to reassess our business model. This summer we launched our first CSA and harvested a weekly variety of veggies for 20 community members, and 30 seniors in the Disability Network of Wayne.

This winter, in an effort to cater to those who are newly working from home and looking to eat healthier, we came up with a Winter Salad Kit Subscription service that we’re excited launch this week! The 10-week subscription will provide members with three healthy & robust salads per week, which include farm-sourced leafy salad greens, microgreens, nuts & grains, and a homemade dressing (+ a recipe card for dressing recreation). In addition to getting a kickstart on your healthy eating habits, you will be supporting our local small business.
